New Delhi/Raipur – Dec 27, 2012 : .The Chhattisgarh Police has registered an FIR against Kalicharan Maharaj, a Hindu religious leader.
He allegedly made derogatory remarks about Mahatma Gandhi while praising Nathuram godse.The police filed an FIR under section 505(2) and 294 IPC at the Tikrapara Police Station on the grounds of Pramod Dubey (former Raipur mayor, Congress leader) Raipur hosted the event “Dharam Sansad” on Sunday, December 26.
This is in the context of hate speech made at Haridwar.Raipur’s event was held at Rawanbhata.Sant Kalicharan Maharaj is accused of using derogatory language for Mahatma Gandhi.He also justified Nathuram Godse who murdered Gandhi.
Gandhi tweeted #Gandhiforever, and Gandhi quoted Gandhi saying “You cannot imprison me thoughts.”
An incident similar to this was reported to occur in Haridwar, during an event that took place from December 17-20.Social media users circulated the video clips, saying that Hindus must arm themselves as Myanmarians do.Every Hindu should pick up weapons to conduct a “Safayi Abhiyan”.
Yati Narasimhanand was the organizer of this three-day event.He is a controversial religious leader and has been charged with inciting violence in the past.
Uttarakhand Police has lodged an FIR against Jitendra Naryan Tyagi.He was a former chairman of Shia Waqf Board and converted recently to Hinduism.
