Tomar’s comments are a challenge for corporate forces: AIKS

New Delhi 26 December : .The All India Kisan Mahasabha (AIKS), condemned Sunday’s statement by Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Sing Tomar that he would bring back the three Indian farm laws which were repealed recently as an attack on the country, and specifically the workers.
The AIKS (an important organisation of Samyukt Kisan Morcha) stated that “This is a challenge for the corporate forces both Indian and international and the global imperialist trinity (WB,IMF,WTO)”, adding that it was addressing the issue on behalf of the Indian and foreign corporations. It had been spearheading a nearly year-long agitation to repeal the contentious farm laws.

These were later repealed earlier in the month by Parliament.

Tomar made the comment at Nagpur Friday about farm laws being brought back.”We had brought it in, but some people weren’t happy. So we took a step back.We will continue (on farm law).” Tomar clarified on Sunday that there is no plan or proposal to repeal farm reform laws.

AIKS however stated that the “Indian peasantry” and “the working class” are ready to take on this challenge.Modi is a “government of the corporation, by and for the corporations”.

In the immediate future, there will be more struggles in India and this will ultimately end the Modi-government’s corporate rule.

The statement reminded that although the SKM did not withdraw but suspend the struggle within the framework of repealing the farm acts.It stated: “The next SKM Meeting on January 15th will continue to discuss and decide on how we can fight for the rest of our demands, including the enactment of law for legally guaranteed minimum price, withdrawal from the Electricity (Privatisation Bill) and the dismissal or arrest of Minister of State, Home Affairs Ajay Kumar Teni.”
