Srinagar : , Four terrorists were killed during two encounters with security forces in South Kashmir on Saturday.Two terrorists were killed by police and security forces during an anti-terrorist raid in Tral, Awantipora.
In Shopian two terrorists were also defeated in an encounter between security and Police forces.
According to police, “Based upon specific information from Police concerning the presence of terrorists at village Hardumir in Tral area Awantipora,” a joint search and cordon was established by Awantipora Army and Police.”
They were allowed to surrender several times during the operation as terrorists became apparent.They refused to surrender and fired on the joint search team indiscriminately, resulting in an encounter.
Two terrorists were shot dead in the subsequent encounter.Their bodies were later retrieved from the scene of the encounter.
These terrorists were identified as Nadeem Nazar Bhat (resident of Koil Shikargah), Tral, and Rahi Rasool Bhhat alias Adil (resident of Kanipora Dadsara).
According to police records, both terrorists killed were classified terrorists and linked with the proscribed terror group AuGH.
They were also part of terror groups that were involved in several terror crimes including IED blasts and grenade attack on Police/Security Forces institutions.
They were found with incriminating material, ammunition and arms including two AK-series rifles.

The police have filed a case in accordance with the relevant laws and an investigation is underway.
