Chennai, December 25, : , Rajenthra Bhalaji from Virudhunagar and former Tamil Nadu Milk and Dairy Development minister, as well as the bank accounts of Rajenthra Bhalaji who is an AIADMK leader, were frozen.IANS was told by police sources that six accounts belonging to the ex-minister, currently on the run from authorities, were frozen.Two cases have been registered by the district crime branch police of job rackets against Bhalaji.
After the Madras High Court denied anticipatory bail, the former minister has been evading arrest ever since Friday, December 17.The case involves allegedly cheating 20 job applicants of Rs 3.35 crore, promising them jobs as government employees in different institutions, including the Tamil Nadu Milk cooperative.
Vijay Nallathambi, a former functionary in the AIADMK from Virudhunagar, against whom youths filed cases alleging that he took money from them has now filed a case against Rajenthra Bhalaji claiming that he gave Rs 1.6 million to Rajenthra Bhalaji for providing job opportunities to different aspirants.
The Madras High Court rejected the anticipatory bail plea by the ex-minister, but stated that prima facie evidence appears to exist against him in the two cases involving job racket.
Although the former minister filed an appeal at the Supreme Court to be granted anticipatory bail, he has yet to appear before the investigation team.
Eight special Virudhunagar Police teams have been formed to search for the ex-minister and they have issued an alert against him in order to stop him leaving the country.
