New Delhi, December 13, 2013 : .Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State, Public Grieves, praised Monday’s high disposal rate at the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Jammu and Srinagar.
He stated that in just 15 days more than 100 cases were disposed by the Srinagar court, while Jammu had disposed off over 6,000 in less than a year.Singh, who was examining the operation of the new benches in the capital with Manjula Das (CAT Chairman), said Jammu and Kashmir has the only Union Territory that has two CAT benches.
Two CAT benches, according to the Minister, signify both the energy and motivation given by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government to Jammu and Kashmir and also the health and well-being for the staff of government.This would allow them to continue to be a driving force that will ultimately lead to the growth of the Union Territory.
Jitendra Singh inaugurated the Srinagar-CAT bench on November 23, while he inaugurated the Jammu bench in June 2013.These benches are devoted to the service of employees government.
According to the Minister, the benches would reduce the workload of different courts and provide speedy assistance for those covered by Administrative Tribunals in their grievances or service issues.
The union territory government has been given both Srinagar and Jammu CAT buildings.
He also said that the Narendra Modi government is committed to transparency and “justice for all”.The people-friendly reforms undertaken in the last seven years have benefitted the entire country including the people of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
He further said that more than 800 central laws, which were not applicable to Jammu and Kashmir earlier, have been made applicable after August 5, 2019 for the benefit of people of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, so that they can enjoy the same rights as people in the rest of India.
