Hangzhou, December 13, : , East China’s Zhejiang Province registered 138 confirmed Covid-19 cases locally transmitted and one carrier.This was in the context of the recent Covid-19 resurgence.According to the provincial government, there were 44 reported cases in Ningbo and 77 in Shaoxing.One asymptomatic carrier was also in Shaoxing.17 cases were found in Hangzhou’s provincial capital.
Analysis of the whole genome revealed that three cases were due to the Delta sub-lineage.
According to Xinhua news agency, it is transmissible more frequently and carries a greater viral load than the original novel coronavirus.
Local authorities have imposed restrictions on public gatherings and traveling out of the province to prevent the virus from spreading further.
