Beijing, Nov 28 : , Chinese tech giant Huawei plans to launch its next-generation foldable smartphone in February next Year.A new report claims that the brand has already started mass production.Electronic Times reports that the company has begun mass production for a new foldable smartphone hinge at a customer’s request.
This new foldable phone will compete against Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 3 and should be priced lower.
The company is currently testing the OLED screen and the under-display fingerprint sensor for the next generation foldable smartphones.
The phone will be equipped with the POL-LESS OLED technology, which Samsung Display developed.
This could increase brightness by 20% to 30%.
Huawei has a few foldable smartphones in its portfolio, including the Mate X, Mate Xs and the Mate X2.
Huawei had filed a patent earlier for smartphones with an underdisplay selfie camera.Two patents filed by Huawei, the Chinese tech giant, were published by the CNIPA in 2019.
Patents also reveal that the phone won’t have volume buttons, unlike the Mate 30 Pro.To control volume, users will need to use a virtual slider.
The front of the device is bezel-less, with no notches to hold a selfie-camera, and there is no mechanism to pop-up a camera.
