New Delhi : , Nov 21, 2011 – Everything in India is politically charged.Even more controversial is the passage of farm legislations in Parliament, and their subsequent repeal.
More than 56% of respondents to a national snap poll by IANS CVoter asking about why protests have continued for almost a year against three farm laws, stated that they were motivated politically.Surprisingly, nearly 48% of the opposition voters agreed with this view.It was more telling to see the responses to the question about whether the removal of three farm laws would have any impact on Assembly elections due for early 2022.The overwhelming majority (55.1%) of respondents believed there would be an effect on the elections, and 30.8 percent felt there wouldn’t be.
Again, it seemed like there was convergence between the opinions of NDA supporters and those supporting opposition.53% of NDA voters believe there will be an effect on the election, and more than 56% of the opposition voters feel the same. The convergence is over and the IANS-CVoter poll results clearly show polarization.
If Modi succumbs, as he did in the Land Acquisition Bill 2015, 36.3 percent of NDA supporters said no, and 43% answered a loud yes.
47% of NDA voters voted for Modi, while 36% disagreed.
According to the IANS-CVoter poll, the future elections will be influenced by the laws and politics surrounding them.
