San Francisco, November 20, : , A Tesla female employee filed rare legal action against Elon Musk’s electric car firm in the US.She claimed that the company created a hostile environment for women and sexual harassment was rampant.According to The Washington Post’s report, Jessica Barraza (a Tesla Model 3 production associate) claimed in a lawsuit she suffered constant harassment from Tesla’s Fremont factory. She said that this included inappropriate physical touch and catcalling.
She was quoted in the late Friday report as saying that harassment “robs you of your security and almost dehumanises” after three years.
Barraza claims that Barraza was made vulgar remarks about her body by her supervisor over a text message.
She was also propositioned by the supervisory leader and frequently touched in inappropriate ways by her coworkers.Barraza alleges she was rubbed against her backside several times per week.
Plaintiffs were accused of “rampant harassment at Tesla” as well as “nightmarish conditions” on the factory floor. They also claimed that it “more closely resembles an archaic, crude construction site or frathouse than a modern company located in the center of San Francisco Bay.”
Barraza also stated to The Verge that for almost three years my female colleagues and I had been subjected to sexual harassment on the factory floor. My goal was to be able to go to work and do my job while supporting my family, but not to suffer constant sexual harassment.”I felt humiliated, traumatised and degraded.”
Tesla’s Model S, Model 3 and Model X electric cars are produced at Fremont.
The company ordered $137 million payment to an ex-contractor at the plant in October. He claimed he had been subject to racial harassment and was working in a hostile environment.
Barraza’s suit was not yet resolved by Tesla.
