Dera Baba Nanak, Punjab, Nov 18, : , A delegation from the Punjab Cabinet, along with other dignitaries, led by Chief Minister Charanjit Sing Channi, left Thursday for Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib to pay obeisance.Along with Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal and PWD Minister Vijay Inder Singla and MLAs Harpartap Singh Ala, Barindermeet Singh Pahra, the Chief Minister and his family crossed the border around noon to make a special visit at Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib, Narowal, Pakistan, on the solemn occasion of Prakash Purba Guru Nanak Dev.
Channi described the Kartarpur Sahib corridor’s opening as an historic event and said it was joyous because many devotees were able to travel to Sri Kartarpur Sahib through the corridor.
According to the Chief Minister, the long-awaited ardaas of Sikh sangat has been completed and they are now able to pay respects at the holy shrine without hindrance.
He also stated that the reopening the corridor will allow visa-free travel for Indian pilgrims who wish visit Kartarpur Sahib by simply obtaining a permit.
According to the Chief Minister, he felt fortunate enough be part of “sangat” paying tribute after Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib fulfilled its long-standing demand for ‘Khule Darshandidar’.
Channi stated that he would pray to Sri Kartarpur Sahib in order for both the peace, prosperity and harmony of each side.
He said that “our gurus demonstrated path of humility and unity, peace, and welfare” adding that he hopes the corridor would play a key role in realising “our great Guru’s great ideas”.
