New Delhi : , Nov 12, 2012: After controversy over comments made by Salman Khurshid, senior Congress leader, in his book “Sunrise Over Ayodhya”: Nationhood and Our Times, Congress appears to be in more trouble after Rahul Gandhi claimed that Hinduism is different from Hindutva.New Delhi, November 12, : , After an uproar over the comments of Salman Khurshid, a senior Congress leader in his latest book, ‘Sunrise Over Ayodhya, Nationhood in Our Times”, Congress seem to have gotten into even more trouble when Rahul Gandhi said that Hinduism, and Hindutva, are two different things.
Speaking virtually at a party function he said, “Is there something common between Hindutva and Hinduism, what is the difference between Hinduism and Hindutva.He said the following: “Is there anything common between Hindutva, Hinduism, and what is their difference between Hinduism or Hindutva?”As he spoke virtually during a party function, he asked, “Is it something common between Hindutva or Hinduism? What is the difference between Hinduism & Hindutva?” If they are the same why they have different names — why then use name of Hinduism, and not Hindutva.”They are identical, so why do they use different names? Why not Hindutva instead of Hindutva?If they were the same, why have they different names — then why use Hinduism and not Hindutva.

He said we have to train groups of people who have understanding of the ideology and connect with the issues and we have to explore and understand and develop a group of people who understand the difference between these and apply these differences to issues.According to him, we need to develop understanding and connection among people.

We need to create a community of understanding people to connect to the issue and to understand them.

The debate on Hindutva is already in the public domain and the Congress is facing flak from the BJP.The Congress faces criticism from the BJP for the debate about Hindutva.Already, the Congress has been criticized by the BJP over the Hindutva debate.A passage from a chapter titled ‘The Saffron Sky’ from Khurshid’s book reads: “Sanatan Dharma and classical Hinduism known to sages and saints were being pushed aside by a robust version of Hindutva, by all standards a political version similar to the jihadist Islam of groups like ISIS and Boko Haram of recent years.”Khurshid wrote in a chapter entitled “The Saffron Sky” that: “Sanatan Daharma and the classical Hinduism, as well as other religious texts and traditions were being ignored by a strong Hindutva version.This is, according to all standards, a political version very similar to ISIS or Boko Haram’s jihadist Islam.Khurshid has written a passage in chapter “The Saffron Sky”, which reads, “Sanatan Diksha and classical Hinduism were being extinguished by a robust Hindutva,” which is a political form of the jihadist Islam that groups such as ISIS and Boko Haram have been using.

Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad disagreed and said in a statement, “We do not agree with Hindutva as political ideology distinct from composite culture of Hinduism, but comparing Hindutva with ISIS and Jehadi Islamist is factually wrong and an exaggeration.”Ghulam Azad, a senior Congress leader, disagreed.He stated in a statement that “We don’t agree with Hindutva [a political ideology] distinct from composite culture Hinduism but it is inaccurate and exaggerated to compare Hindutva and ISIS/Jehadi Islamist.”Ghulam Naabi Azad, senior Congress leader disagreed.In a statement, he stated that while Hindutva is not a distinct political ideology from the composite culture of Hinduism; however, comparing Hindutva to ISIS or Jehadi Islamicist is factually incorrect and an exaggeration.

Meanwhile, Vineet Jindal, a Delhi-based lawyer, on Thursday filed a complaint with the police against Khurshid for the remarks made in his book, demanding an FIR be lodged against Khurshid under Sections 153, 153A, 298 and 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code.
