Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari takes charge as new IAF Chief

Fighter pilot Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari today took over as the new IAF Chief.He served as in-charge at Ladakh during the period of India held talks with China military.Air Chief RKS Bhadauria retired today.

Bhadauria has been in service for 42 years.Bhadauria played a key role in the procurement of 36 Rafale and 83 Mark 1A Tejas aircraft.However, VR Chaudhari has served in several key positions in the Air Force.

He served on the battlefield as well as at headquarters.

Chaudhari played an important role in the modernization of air defence systems in India.

India will soon be bringing S-400 defence systems from Russia.Chaudhry will also be responsible for the modernization of warplanes in India.

The son of Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary is also a fighter pilot.He works for the Rafale fighter plane.

Chaudhari joined the IAF in 1982.In total, he has 3800 hours of flying experience.He participated in Operation Meghdoot.Operation Meghdoot was launched during the occupation of the Siachen Glacier in the 1980s.

He also took part in Operation Safed Sagar during the Kargil war.
