CM Jagan to lay foundation stone for 14 medical colleges in AP

Chief Minister YS Jagan laid the foundation for the construction of 14 medical colleges in AP virtually from the CM camp office in Thadepalli.He said the colleges would be set up at Piduguralla, Machilipatnam, Vijayanagaram, Anakapalli, Rajahmundry, Amalapuram, Palakollu, Eluru, Bapatla, Markapuram, Madanapalle, Penukonda, Nandyala and Adoni in AP.

Speaking on this occasion, CM Jagan said, “We are making medical services available to the poor in the state.” He said 10,111 YSR Village Clinics and 560 Urban Health Clinics would be set up in the state.He explained that at least 2 primary health care centres are being set up in each zone.

A total of 176 PHCs will be constructed in AP in the coming days.Jagan said five tribal hospitals were being built for tribals at Rs.246 crore.he said that the YCP govt has already brought 2,436 medical treatments under the Arogyasree scheme.

Jagan said that nursing colleges are also being set up in addition to the medical colleges in the state.

He explained that work on medical colleges is already underway in Pulivendula and Paderu in the state.Jagan said the plan was to complete the construction of the new medical colleges within three years.
