Amaravati, Nov 12 : Andhra Pradesh has registered 1,728 new Covid cases, increasing the state’s tally to 8.49 lakh, even as 1,777 more patients recovered from the virus to outnumber daily infections on Thursday.
East Godavari district accounted for the highest number of cases at 290, followed by West Godavari (239), Krishna (223), Guntur (212), Chittoor (206), Anantapur (99), Nellore (91), Prakasam (88), Kadapa (85), Visakhapatnam (74), Srikakulam (43), Vizianagaram (42) and Kurnool (36).
With the new additions, West Godavari’s tally is inching towards the 90,000-mark while Kurnool’s tally is close to 60,000.
East Godavari continues to shoulder the highest number of cases at 1.19 lakh.
Meanwhile, nine more patients succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths to 6,837.
Chittoor continues to be the district with the highest number of Covid deaths at 804.
However, the southern state is consistently recording an impressive number of recoveries everyday.
On a positive note, 1,777 more patients recovered from the disease to increase the total recoveries to 8.22 lakh.
Of the 8.49 lakh cases, active cases have plummeted to 20,857.
