Four policemen were killed in a road accident in the Srikakulam district.The road accident occurred when a police vehicle met with an accident with a lorry on the Palasa Mandal Summadevi National Highway.
However, Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharitha and DGP Gautham Sawang expressed shock over the accident.Both Home Minister and DGP Gautham Sawang mourned the death of the policemen.
DGP Gautam Sawang expressed shock over the death of four policemen in a road accident, the DGP’s office said.According to the reports, the accident occurred while the four policemen went to Calcutta to hand over the mortal remains of an Army soldier to his family members.
An AR SI, two Head Constables and one Constable died in the accident.
DGP Sawang directed the DIG of the zone and District SP to rush to the spot and take immediate relief measures.Also, DGP Gautam Sawang issued orders to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
“The death of four policemen on duty is a huge loss to our police family.My deepest condolences to the family members of the deceased policemen.The government and the police department will provide support for their families,” said DGP Sawang in the statement.
