At Revenue Knowledge Meet, in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, called for all the Income Tax officials should keep 10 crore Tax payers, as the primary goal to the latest regular 5.4 crore tax payers.He further stated that, officials should work towards building ‘bridges of confidence’ with the common people who are willing to pay taxes but have lost trust in the various payment methods followed and also, right use of the tax money.
He asked officials to develop efficient trust campaigns, to gain the trust of the tax payers, that their money is being used for the growth of the country and economy.
He also stated that statistically, 92% of the payers are paying through automation methods and only, remaining 8% is collected by the officials and he said that should improve.
