TDP elects its national president

AP Chief Minsiter Chandrababu Naidu is no more a regional party leader.TDP on Friday announced its transformation as a national political party.

The party leaders unanimously elected N.Chandrababu Naidu as its first national president.Naidu was elected unopposed to the post of president of the national committee.

TDP leaders had filed 30 sets of nominations on behalf of Naidu.As no other leader filed a nomination for the post, announced Naidus election became unanimous.

CBN thanked all the leaders for electing him as national party leader.Addressing the leaders Naidu said there was a need to expand the party to as many States as possible.

With electing Naidu as National party leader, TDP party began the formalities to get the recognition as a national party.For getting national status the party needs to bag at least 6 per cent votes in three states other than AP and Telangana states.

Nara Lokesh has taken responsibility for spreading the party to neighboring Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Odisha states and also to Andaman Nicobar islands, where many Telugu people are settled.
