Union minister of consumer affairs, food and public distribution Ram Vilas Paswan has died of a cardiac arrest on Thursday night.
He was in the hospital for weeks after he underwent heart surgery in Delhi.Tweeting about his father’s untimely death Lok Janshakti Party chief Chirag Paswan tweeted: “Papa ….Now you are not in this world, but I know you are always with me wherever you are.Miss you Papa …”
For more than five decades, Ram Vilas Paswan was in active politics and regarded as one of India’s influential Dalit leaders.He had been part of the Narendra Modi government since 2014 as Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.
