T’gana govt issued show-cause notices to 64 private hospitals

The Telangana vigilance officers raided private hospitals in the state.A total of 88 complaints have been received from patients against 64 private hospitals in the state for charging high bills, said Dr.Gadala Srinivasa Rao, director of, public health department.He said that show-cause notices were given to the hospitals and asked to give an explanation within 24 to 48 hours.

Srinivas Rao said that action would be taken after the show-cause notices were received from them.Of the total complaints received so far, 39 were from Hyderabad, 22 were in Medchal district, 15 complaints from Rangareddy district, 7 complaints from Warangal Urban, 2 complaints from Sangareddy, one each in Mahabubnagar, Nizamabad, and Yadadri districts.

In Greater Hyderabad, 6 complaints were received against a hospital in Kukatpally, 5 against a hospital in Begumbazar, and 3 against a hospital in Kachiguda.He said a hospital permit had already been revoked.

Srinivasa Rao advised people to WhatsApp their complaints to 9154170960.

The director of the public health department said, recently, they had received 676 complaints about the Covid vaccine and beds, along with complaints regarding hospital bills in the private hospitals.

The vigilance officers are warning the private hospitals to be careful.
