Until now, many have a negative impact on the standards of government schools across the country.But it seems, the belief has broken by the Telangana government schools.According to the Telangana State Statistical Abstract 2020, Telangana schools set a new enrolment record with the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) at 98.4 per cent with 30,52,115 new enrolments.

The statistics derived from UDISE data 2018-19 source, where districts like Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Hyderabad, Adilabad, Sangareddy, Narayanpet, Komaram Bheem Asifabad and Jogulamba Gadwal recorded 100% GER in the primary schools.Reportedly, it is due to the migration of students from other States or other districts into the respective districts.

According to the stats, Primary schools recorded 88.1 per cent GER with a total of 16,84,041 enrolments.The high schools across the state reported 87.08 per cent GER with 10,74,334 enrolments.On the whole, almost 60,15,597 students have enrolled in the Telangana government schools.The government initiation of the Badi Bata programme, recruitment of new teachers and assurance of free quality education has resulted in a high number of admissions each year, said the teacher’s association.
