In a significant political move, three senior leaders from the Telangana TDP party have joined the ruling BRS party.
This shift comes just before the upcoming elections in Telangana.
Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy, a respected member of TDP and former Rajya Sabha member, along with Congress leader Jitta Balakrishna Reddy, and Mamilla Rajender, the president of Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers Association, officially joined the BRS party on Friday.They were welcomed by the BRS working president and IT Minister KT Rama Rao in Hyderabad.
Chandrasekhar Reddy, a long-standing TDP member, decided to align with the BRS and may become the BRS Lok Sabha candidate from Mahbubnagar.Rama Rao expressed his privilege in having Chandrasekhar Reddy join the party, stating that it will strengthen BRSs presence in the Mahbubnagar district.
Balakrishna Reddy, who had previously been associated with the BRS (formerly TRS) and had been away for 14 years, returned to the party.He expressed that it felt like a homecoming for him and urged other proponents of the Telangana movement to join the BRS.Mamilla Rajender, who resigned from government service, also joined the BRS.He emphasized his commitment to serving his community, the Mudiraj caste.These leaders decisions to switch parties are expected to have an impact on the political landscape in Telangana, and they are seen as a significant development before the upcoming Assembly elections..
