Odean Smith’s show of all-round talent goes in futility in the end as New Zealand defeat West Indies by 13 runs.

Kingston (Jamaica) August 11 : All-rounder Odean Smith put in his best performances of his career with bat and ball in an effort that was spirited to win the opening game for the West Indies.

However, his efforts were in the wrong direction in the end as New Zealand registered a 13-run victory over the West Indies in the first T20I to get a 1-0 series leadIn front of a live audience in the front of the home crowd Smith scored impressive figures of 3-32 in his four overs.

He then smashed a record-breaking 27 not out from just 12 balls, however West Indies fell short of winning.It was a game where West Indies had a brilliant fielding performance.
