Assistant Minister of State for Water Resources Bishweshwar Tudu said that the recommendations made by the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal headed by Justice Brijesh Kumar had not been notified in the official gazette as per the directions of the Supreme Court.Replying to a question in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, YSRCP MP Vijayasaireddy said that the Central Government had set up a Justice Brijesh Tribunal in 2004 under the International Water Disputes Act.
The tribunal reported to the government in 2010.He said the AP government had filed a special leave petition in the Supreme Court in 2011 against the Karnataka and Maharashtra governments, on which the Karnataka and Maharashtra governments had filed separate petitions in the Supreme Court.
He said the apex court had directed the central government not to publish the tribunal’s recommendations in the official gazette until the final verdict is delivered.
