Los Angeles, Aug 28 : “Harry Potter” writer J.K.Rowling has responded to the question of why she was not present at the Harry Potter reunion, and the reason is simple she said she did not feel like it.On Virgin Radio Saturday (Pacific Standard Time) the author explained the reason she was not featured in the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, which was released the 1st of January on HBO Max, reports People magazine.
“I had been asked to participate on the panel, but I decided that I didn’t want to be on it,” she told the host, Graham Norton, quoted by People through a video posted to YouTube.”I thought it was more about movies more than books, and quite correctly.That’s what the anniversary was all about.”
“No one told me not to (do it).).I was asked to do it , but I decided to not,” she added.
According to People in another place in the discussion, Rowling who is 57 also spoke about her relationships with social media.In early March, she received a death threat for expressing her concern over Salman Rushdie’s stabbing.
“I attempt to conduct myself online in the same way as I would want others to be.I’ve never taken a stand against anyone,” she told Graham during the interview.”I certainly would not want anyone to go to their homes or anything similar to that.”
“Social media has the potential to be an abundance of fun and I like the pub debate part of it.This can be a very enjoyable activity to engage in .,” she said.”I kind of have an affectionate-hate relationship with it right now.I can go for some time without engaging in an (virtual) pub fight.”
People reports that Rowling was criticized in June 2020 after she was seen to be a supporter of transgender discrimination in an array of tweets.
Although she claimed that her opinions on feminists are transphobic, she doubled down on her controversial views in an essay that was posted on her website a few days after.
