Top negotiator: Iran expects the West to take ‘practical steps’ in nuclear negotiations

Irans nuclear chief negotiator stated that Iran had entered a new round in Vienna talks.

He made "useful and constructive" suggestions and expected "practical steps from the West." The negotiations reached an important stage in the latest round of talks.

"Iran made very helpful and constructive suggestions on the two topics of lifting sanctions, as well as nuclear measures which could seriously advance the negotiation process," Ali Bagheri Kani (also Irans deputy foreign minister) told Russias state television.Bagheri Kani described relations between Iran, Russia and various other fields as "excellent in different areas" and noted that there are consultations and had already consulted Russian officials regarding the Vienna negotiations, Xinhua reported.

According to the Iranian Top Negotiator, there is also interaction between other parties at the Vienna talks.These negotiations are aimed at revitalizing the 2015 nuclear agreement, which was formally called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

He expressed hope that the next meeting would see the negotiation process continue "more rapidly." He confirmed that earlier reports had indicated that the parties concerned will be meeting in Vienna, Austria on Thursday for further discussions.
