The Indonesian government has announced that it will impose moderate-level 3 restrictions on public mobility from December 24, 2021, to January 2, 20,22, in an effort to control a third round of coronavirus infection in the year-end holidays.

"During Christmas and New Year holidays in Indonesia, regulations will apply according to PPKM Level 3," Effendy stated in a Saturday press release.PPKM Level 3 refers to public spaces such as restaurants, shops, and churches that are allowed to host visitors up to 50% and can operate till 9 p.m., Xinhuas news agency reported.Public spaces like public squares must be kept closed.

Celebrations with crowds and fireworks are also prohibited.The government warned people that they should not travel to or leave urban areas where their jobs are located a few weeks back.
