India is now the third-largest domestic aviation market in the world: Scindia

New Delhi, November 18 : Jyotiraditya Skindia, Civil Aviation Minister said Thursday that India is now the third-largest domestic aviation marketScindia, speaking at an event on "Wings India 2022", stated that India currently handles third most domestic traffic, after China and the USA.

He stated, "We all know air transportation is an essential element of the country’s transport infrastructure.It plays an important part in the country’s economic growth." The minister stated that overall cargo handled at the countrys airports in FY22 during the first and second quarters (combined), has increased to over 80 percent (15.36 million MT between April-September FY22), despite being affected by severe flooding during the first quarter.Hyderabads Wings India 2022 will be Asias biggest event in civil aviation.
