The Israeli Army announced three weeks earlier that it had completed the smart barrier construction around Gaza Strip after three years of hard work at a cost of 3.5 million Israeli shekels (1.109 billion).
It measures 65km and includes an underground barrier with detectors, an elevated barrier with a sea wall, detection systems, and viewing observatories.
On Wednesday, 12 militant organizations, including al-Qassam Brigades and the armed wings of the militant organization of the Islamic Jihad as well as the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) held a joint military operation in the Gaza Strip.
