Effect of cyclone Yaas on AP and Telangana

A low-pressure belt in the Bay of Bengal has turned into a severe cyclone.

Moderate to heavy rains are expected in some parts of Andhra Pradesh today (Tuesday) due to the impact of the cyclone, IMD scientists said.

Also, the rains may continue even on Wednesday.The IMD has warned that strong winds of about 40-50 KMPH speed will hit the Andhra Pradesh coast from this afternoon.

There is a chance of rain in many places in Telangana, IMD forecasted.On the 26th of this month, winds of 50-70 KMPH are expected in Uttara Andhra from tomorrow morning.

IMD warned the people in the area to be vigilant.The same intensity of the cyclone is expected in many parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Scientists have warned that the people living on the coasts of the Uttara Andhra, Odisha, and West Bengal must be vigilant on Tuesday and Wednesday.Heavy rains are expected in several districts of Odisha, West Bengal, and Sikkim between May 25 and 27.The state governments have issued warnings to fishermen and prohibited fishing in the sea.Cyclone Yaas is located 510 km southeast of Balasore in Odisha and 420 km south of Paradip, according to IMD scientists.
