returned to Sharjah - a venue with which he shares many fond memories, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president took stock of preparations for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.

Sourav Ganguly has been part of many memorable ODIs at the Sharjah Cricket Ground wherein the former skipper scored more than 700 runs, including a hundred and 5 fifties.

Ganguly, it seems, went down the memory lane, and applauded the new look of the ground, which is one of the 3 venues for IPL 2020.Sourav Ganguly was accompanied by IPL chairman Brijesh Patel and COO Hemang Amin as the trio got a first-hand look of preparations in the lead up to

Ganguly took to social media to share photos from his visit to the iconic venue in Sharjah.

Sharjah

is the 1st of the 3 venues that Ganguly has visited and he is likely to assess the preparations at Dubai and Abu Dhabi as well, according to Gulf News.

The 

BCCI president

had landed in Dubai on September 9 and completed his mandatory 6-day quarantine period before heading to Sharjah.
