Budget allocation for CAPFs & CPOs up by 12.98% #Budget #CAPFs

New Delhi, Feb 1 : With an increase of 12.98 per cent, the Central Armed Police Forces(CAPFs) and Central Police Organisations (CPOs) were allocated Rs 1,02,668 crore in the Union Budget 2022-23.

The total allocation for CAPFs and CPOs, that comes under Ministry of Home Affairs, was Rs 90,888.41 crore in 2021-22.Among the CAPFs, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the largest CAPF or para-military force, responsible for internal security duties and also deployed Jammu and Kashmir for counter terrorism, has been allocated Rs 29,324.92 in comparison to the pervious years Rs 27,307.42 crore.The Border Security Force (BSF) which is deployed to borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh and also deputed for internal security duty in some parts of the country has been allocated with Rs 22,718.45 crore in comparison to Rs 21,491.14 crore given in 2021-22.The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), which is deployed at the India-China border, got Rs 7,461.28 crore in comparison to Rs 6,965.02 crore allocated in the previous budget.The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) deployed for the protection of the critical installations, government buildings and many of airports and metro networks, has been given Rs 12201.90 crore compared to Rs 11,372.54 crore allocated in the year 2021-22.The India-Myanmar border guarding for Assam Rifle, which is also deployed for counter -insurgency assignment in the Northeast, has been allocated Rs 6658.41 crore in comparison to the last years allocation of Rs 6,046.25 crore.Another border guarding force Shashastra Seema Bal (SSB), which defends Indias borders with Nepal and Bhutan, has been allocated Rs 7,653.73 crore in comparison to Rs 6940.42 crore given in 2021-22.With an increase of Rs 142 crore, the National Security Guard (NSG), the elite commando force to tackle any emergency security situation, has been allocated Rs 1293.37 crore.The Special Protection Group (SPG), which protects the Prime Minister, has been allocated with Rs 385.95 crore in comparison to Rs 386.50 crore given in 2021-22 while the allocations of Delhi Police has been increased by 21.09 per cent from Rs 8338.12 crore in 2021-22 to Rs 10,096.29 crore in 2022-23.The Intelligence Bureau (IB), the countrys domestic Intel gathering agency has been allocated Rs 3168.36 crore, which is 13.43 per cent hike from the last years allocation of Rs 2793.02 crore.ams/shs #Budget #CAPFs #CPOs #Delhi # Seema #China Assam #Delhi #New Delhi #Jammu And Kashmir #Jammu # Assam #Intel.
