Aditi Rao Hydari is a successful actor who has recently gained recognition for her performances in two web shows, Jubilee and Taj: Divided by Blood.Initially, she was only interested in doing films for the big screen.However, her recent success has made her realise the power of OTT platforms.
Hydari’s first exposure to the digital world was in 2020 when her Malayalam film, Sufiyum Sujatayum, was released directly on an OTT platform due to the lockdown.Although she was upset at first, she saw the positive impact that the release had on her career.She was surprised that her work was able to connect with people even though she was an outsider in the Malayalam film industry.
Hydari admits that she had to learn about the power of OTT platforms.Initially, she preferred the big screen because of the magic that it creates.
However, she realised that what truly matters is the story and how it connects with the audience.
Hydari has been in the film industry for over 17 years, and she believes that her sensitivity and vulnerability are her biggest strengths.
People used to tell her to “grow thick skin,” but she has come to realise that it is her vulnerability that makes her unique.She believes that it is important to own who you are and to put all your energy into the art.
Hydari is currently preparing for her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi.She hopes that her sensitivity and vulnerability will help her connect with the character and bring her to life on screen.
