Abolishing GO 111 Is like ringing death bell : Telangana Congress

The Telangana Congress on Monday breathed fire on CM KCR headed Telangana government for scrapping G.0 111, which meant for protecting the Hyderabad city from natural calamities.

By abolishing GO 111, the BRS government has rendered Hyderabad vulnerable to floods and has put lives of millions in peril.

The measure has implications far beyond impacting the drinking water needs of the people, alleged TPCC president A.Revanth Reddy."Osmansagar and Himayatsagar were created by the last Nizam after the devastating floods in 1908 claimed 50,000 lives and caused property loss of `20 crore.

After working on it for 15 years, these lakes were artificially formed to save the city," Revanth Reddy said."We are forming a committee under M.Kodanda Reddy to study this issue elaborately.We will look at how many lands have changed hands after 2019.Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar, K.T.Rama Rao, K.Kavitha, Santosh and Ranjit Reddy own farmhouses in the bio-conservation zone.I call on BJP leaders G.Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar to write to the Centre for a probe into the murky issue," he said.Adviser to the Chief Minister Somesh Kumar and special chief secretary Arvind Kumar are almost like accomplices, he said.
