For the first Time in its history Telugu desam party is going to get a non-Kamma president.AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has chosen to select Unukuru, Srikakulam MLA and senior party leader Kala Venkata Rao as the President of AP TDP.CBN reportedly took the decision and also conveyed to some key leaders.
Though Kala Venkat Rao’s appointment as TDP President for AP has been decided the official announcement is likely only after Chandrababu wraps up his Singapore trip.
Kala Venkata Rao has won four times from the constituency on TDP ticket.He served as minister and was former MP for Rajya Sabha too.In 2008, he migrated to megastar Chiranjeevi established ‘Praja Rajyam’ party but within no time he returned to TDP by ditching PRP.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu left for Singapore on Sunday to discuss the details and plans of the new capital Amravati.Once he returns from tour he will decide on Telangana party president and announce both names simultaneously.
From past few days Naidu is mulling options on replacing himself with a senior and loyal leader, who can cooperate and steer the party in Andhra Pradesh.This is the first occasion when that BC leader is going to head TDP.
