Thiruvananthapuram 13th of September : Internationally renowned filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan said that French filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard changed the rules of filmmaking and forged his own way in creating films.
He was reacting to the passing of the French-Swiss filmmaker on 13 September in the age of 91.

Adoor said that Godard’s intellect were evident in his debut film “Breathless”.He challenged the established method of filmmaking and forged his own style.

He has developed an original design of the character speaking directly to the viewers.The renowned filmmaker claimed that Godard had even invented a new method to create digital films.

The National Award-winning director and editor of International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), Bina Paul said to IANS: “The Intellectual commitment of Godard was exceptional and he was committed to films.His films are a pleasure to watch and revolutionized the process of filmmaking.”

Shyamaprasad who is a National Award-winning director Shyamaprasad, a National Award-winning filmmaker, stated: “This is a great loss to the cinema world.It was Godard who revolutionised filmmaking.He has inspired many Hollywood filmmakers to create realistic films and revolutionized filmmaking.It’s indeed a tragic loss.”

Godard began his career in the film industry after his time as a film critic and writer of screenplays for films.”Breathless” was his debut film, as well as “A Woman is a Girl” his first color film.

His films broke with the traditional norms of French cinema and embarked with a fresh fashion of filmmaking.He was more open and his unconventional way of approaching sex was notable.
