San Francisco, Sep 9 : Google’s YouTube is introducing new services that allow users to explore topics they are interested in and creators to create organized educational content.The platform is announcing changes to help make educational videos more accessible and engaging for learners , while also helping learning creators flourish on YouTube.
“To enhance the YouTube experience in educational settings we’re the first to launch YouTube Player for Educationan innovative YouTube embedded player that displays videos from frequently used educational apps free of distractions like advertisements external links, recommendations, or external links,” Jonathan Katzman, Director of Product Management, YouTube Learning, stated in an article on the blog.
YouTube announced that, to begin it’s partnership with established Edtech companies in the US including EDpuzzle, Purdue University and Purdue Global.
YouTube Player for Education will enhance the existing YouTube embedded player in Google Classroom for an even more enjoyable YouTube experience.
“Next year, creators who have been approved can start offering courses for free or at a cost to provide deep and organized educational experiences to viewers,” the website said.
“Viewers who purchase the Course will be able to watch the video without ads and stream the video in the background.Courses will first be offered in the US and South Korea in beta before expanding to other countries.” the company added.
YouTube has announced it will be adding Quizzes which is a brand new method for creators to let users test their skills.
