Kanyakumari, Sep 7 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin delivered the nation’s flag to Rahul Gandhi to launch the Bharat Jodo Yatra.Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, along with 117 other yatris, will walk 3,570 kilometers from Kanyakumari the country’s southernmost point from the southernmost point of the country, to Kashmir.After handing the flag Stalin was embraced by Gandhi.
The yatra will travel through 12 states as well as 2 Union Territories while Congress General Secretary, Organisation, K.C.Venugopal stated: “We have not involved the states that are poll bound like those of Gujarat as well as Himachal Pradesh.”
However, all of the state organizations of the party will be taking an individual padyatra in their respective states for a period of one month.All blocks will be taking out an evening padyatra every Wednesday.
The Bharat Jodo Yatra of the party will see Gandhi and his fellow yatris joining a selected groups of people between 7 a.m.until 10.30 a.m.every day, and it will be a mass-connect program in the evening.All yatris including Gandhi will take a rest in special containers until the day will come to an end.of the day.
In advance of the yatra Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh on Wednesday said that this would be a the turning the tide of Indian politics , and be a new beginning.
