Moscow 6 September : The globe is set to go through major turmoil because of absurd decisions made from Western countries, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has stated. “Most likely, a massive global storm is forming,” RT News quoted Peskov as saying in an interview.
“In many ways there are objective explanations for this, however, there are subjective explanations for this initial storm that are rooted in extremely absurd and often ridiculous choices and decisions of the authorities in the US, Europe, the EU and even individual European nations,” he said.
The sanctions put in place by the US as well as the EU and a few other countries against Russia over its ongoing conflict in Ukraine have backfired , resulting in an increase in prices for energy and record-breaking inflation in the West.
In this scenario, Russia “still manages to keep macroeconomic stability.A lot of thought-provoking, intense and continuous work is executed in order to achieve this”, Peskov noted.
“As limitations are introduced artificially in the West, (Russia’s) trade and economic relations are shifting their focus to the East,” he added.
However the Kremlin press secretary who spoke at the launching of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok said that “it was completely untrue to claim that we’ve been turning towards the East in the last few minutes.”
“The Asia-Pacific region has always been a key element of economic and trade relations, and also for energy-related dialogue among other regions.”
