New Delhi, Sep 4 : In advance of the Congress rally against inflation, the party’s General Secretary Jairam Ramesh on Sunday said the primary focus of the rally was the issue of economic inequality and inflation.In an interview with the media, Ramesh said, “The rally is not focused on 2024, but the many people suffer from the effects of inflation and the Congress is raising the issue on August 5, and 70 MPs were detained for protest.”
The Congress is organizing an ‘Mehngai par Halla Bol protest at the Ramlila Maidan in the national capital, to protest against price increases and the policies of the Union government.
It hopes thousands of attendees will be at the gathering, in addition to its workers from neighboring states as well as party officials from across the nation.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary K.C.Venugopal declared, “We can proudly say that we are the party that is fighting against the most painful price rise issue across the nation.From 2021 onwards constantly, we will be organizing the protest.”
