New Delhi, Sep 1 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed his sorrow over the death of the former Russian President Mikhail Gorbachev.Prime Minister Modi said he was as one of the most influential leaders of the 20th century that left an irresistible impression on the history of history.
In a tweet, Prime Minister Modi stated: “I extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of H.E.Mr.Mikhail Gorbachev, one of the most influential leaders of the 20th century, who made an irresistible impression in the course of the course of.We are grateful for his contribution to the strengthening of relations with India.”
Gorbachev, Russian Nobel Peace laureate and the last president of the Soviet Union, had died in Moscow at the age of 91.
“This evening, following an extremely long and severe illness Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev died,” the Central Clinical Hospital (CCH) in the Russian capital of Moscow announced in the late hours of Tuesday.
The statesman will be buried alongside his wife in Moscow’s Novodevichy Cemetery, the burial site of many of the most famous Russian composers, writers, and politicians.
