Andhra to demand mechanisms to address post-bifurcation concerns

Amaravati 29 Aug : Andhra Pradesh will require a mechanism to deal with issues that concern the state’s bifurcation at the next session of the Southern Zonal Council (SCZ) scheduled for September 3 in Thiruvananthapuram.
Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday attended a pre-meeting with officials regarding the agenda for the SCZ meeting.

He instructed officials to ensure that the most important issues that concern the state, such as unresolved issues of state bifurcation are addressed in the session.

He stated that it is necessary for the creation of an approach to deal with and resolve bifurcation issues as well as implementing the decision made.

Jagan Mohan Reddy opined that Andhra Pradesh has suffered a amount financially since losing the city of Hyderabad and also said that the state was struggling more with the delay in solving the bifurcation issue.

He also directed officials to bring up the Polavaram issue during the meeting and request the Centre to release the funds to complete the project.

The Chief Minister stated that he will not attend the meeting due to the anniversary of the death anniversary of his father Y.S.Rajashekar Reddy and stated that a delegation from the state would attend under the direction of the Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath.

As a result, officials have put 19 issues on the agenda to be discussed during the Council meeting.

Ministers Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Rajendranath Chief Secretary Sameer Sharma Special Chief Secretary, Agriculture, Poonam Malakondaiah, Special Chief Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Y.Srilakshmi Special Chief Secretary, Energy, K.Vijayanand Special Chief Secretary Finance S.S.Rawat, Special Chief Secretary, Industries, Karikala Valaven Principal Secretary, Transport M.T.Krishnababu Principal Secretary Water Resources Shasibhushan Kumar and other high-ranking officials were also present.
