Mumbai 26 August : “Aashiqui” actress Anu Aggarwal who worked with the late Saawan Kumar Tak in his 1993 film “Khal Naaika”, has called him a “visionary” filmmaker and discusses her experiences of working with him.Films such as “Sanam Bewafa,” and “Souten The director who is 86 years old died on the 25th of August in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai which is in which he was receiving treatment for a lung infection.
Anu declares: “He will be missed.May he rest peacefully in the more peaceful place he has been to.”
When discussing her relationship with the filmmaker who died, she states: “Sawan Kumar ji was a remarkable visionary and brave filmmaker.He was the first to create an entire film in where the female protagonist is transformed into psycho killer.
In the 90s and even today the idea can be described as unique.
“When he approached me for “Khal Naaikaa” with an audio clip of the American film The Hand that rocks the Cradle’ (1992), I was captivated by the intensity of the character as an actor.I would call it an ideal role, without even blinking an eye.”
She says: “I will always be thankful to him for believing in my acting abilities, and deciding to cast me to play a difficult and more mature character among the leading, experienced actresses of the time.It was a complete to the contrary of my character in my debut film”Aashiqui”.”
“It takes a talented filmmaker such as Saawan Kumarji to imagine you in an image that is starkly distinct from the person who made you famous.I will always be thankful to him for showing me in a persona I never thought I could do,” she concludes.
