Rajkot 23rd August : The General secretary of the BJP’s national party and Gujarat in-charge B L Santosh had a closed-door meeting with veteran leader and former Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala.This meeting could result in the return of Vala into active politics according to sources.
Santosh is sleeping in Gujarat over the past three days.Sources say he is there to evaluate the situation on the ground, and also to improve coordination between the agency and the Gujarat government.

Santosh was the only person to attend Saurashtra and Kutch’s 60 seats in the assembly’s in-charges’ meeting in Rajkot on Monday.Following the meeting, he along with two state officials visited Vala at his home where they held an open-door meeting.

It was a casual meeting, and no politics were discussed, according to Vinod Chavda, the party’s general secretary.

However, sources from the party claimed that Santosh wanted Vala’s view regarding the situation in the Saurashtra and Kutch regions, as well as how he perceived the AAP’s presence in the elections and whether or not it would pose a significant threat to the party’s chances in the region.

Vala is an OBC leader and in the past he has served as the party’s leader in the position of state unit president.He has a strong connection to the grassroot and is respected by all groups of the OBC.

In the Saurashtra region in the Saurashtra region, an ongoing tug of war is taking place among BJP state unit president C R Patil and former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, which can be detrimental to the outcome, according to sources.

In this scenario, the parties are looking for an impartial face that is acceptable to all , and Vala is able to broker peace between the two warring factions.
