Director Muthaiah known for making commercially-sounding and wholesome films and returns with another one of these entertainers in “Viruman”.

Like many of his prior films, the story of this one too is set in the countryside and attempts to highlight the power of relationships in the family.

The film opens with the young boy who is chased by his father with dagger in the palm of his hand, threatening for the purpose of killing him.In the end, we discover that the boy Viruman ( Karthi) is the fourth son of Muniyandi (Prakash Raj) who is a Tahsildar in profession.

A young Viruman informs in the court that he wants to stay with his uncle (Raj Kiran) instead of with his father following the demise of his mother.

The court agrees with his wishes and the young Viruman grows to be in the home of his uncle and his brothers are raised at his father’s house.

As the story progresses we discover that Viruman has constructed an honorary memorial for his mother at the location in which she took her own suicide and is determined to ensure that his brothers and father pay tributes to her. What caused she took suicide and the way Viruman transforms his brothers and father is the main focus of the film.about.

Director Muthaiah who has highlighted the beauty of the father-inlaw, son-in-law relationship in “Komban,” now attempts to show the bonds between a strong but self-centered father and an impulsive, but good son who is trying to correct his father who is convinced that money is more important more than relationships.

Muthaiah is an expert in making family dramas with adequate amounts of action, romance comedy, and drama and he has proved it once more with “Viruman”.

The film is captivating from the beginning and will not disappoint until the final.Apart from a well-written story, the film has a stellar cast that brings life to the story.

Karthi as Viruman is just right.Insecure and arrogant on the one hand , but extremely loyal and affectionate to the contrary, Karthi plays the part with flair.

The way in the way he honors a thug for slapping his father in public and the way he decides to honor the thug with the golden ring is hilarious.

Actress Aditi Shankar, daughter of the great director Shankar who makes her debut with this film, is an easygoing person when she performs.

She appears convincing in her character “Thaen” and is completely comfortable in the front of cameras. She does an excellent job of playing a hardworking and adamant woman who believes in fighting to defend her rights.

Raj Kiran, one of the actors with a long history of delivering numerous memorable roles in the past, is back with another stunning performance in this film.As Karthi’s uncle Raj Kiran delivers not just an impressive, but mature performance.

Prakash Raj, who plays Karthi’s father, always delivers with an elegant and unforgettable performance.

The background score of the film composed created by Yuvan Shankar Raja merits special recognition.

Particularly the BGM when Karthi is introduced is fun and adds to the atmosphere of the film.In the entire film, the music by Yuvan plays a significant role in intensifying the mood.

Selvakumar’s visuals in the film are mixed. While some images are impressive and attractive however, others, particularly those that begin in the beginning, appear dull and lacking of sufficient lighting.

All in all Muthaiah’s “Viruman” an entertainer that will win your heart!
