Chennai, Aug 5 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin’s latest Twitter profile photo is a tribute to his father, who passed away in the year 2000.M.Karunanidhi with the Tricolour in the background. In an online tweet, Stalin said: “Muthamil arignar (Tamil scholar), Kalaignar ensured the right of State Chief Ministers to fly the flag of their nation on August 15 1974.”
It is worth noting that M.Karunanidhi had ensured that the Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu would also carry the national flag at Independence Day celebrations.
The photo Stalin posted Stalin uploaded shows Karunanidhi walking down the steps of Fort St George from where the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s hoists the flag of the state.
Stalin’s new profile picture is just days after the Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged his fellow citizens to use the Tricolour as the pictures they display on their social media accounts to mark the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.
