Beirut, December 30, : , The Beirut port customs officials seized 9 million Captagon tablets destined for the Gulf Region.On Wednesday, Bassam Mawlawi, the Lebanese interior minister visited Beirut and inspected the cargo shortly after it was seized.
He also assured that Lebanon is taking serious steps to stop such practices.
Mawlawi spoke to the Gulf nations, saying that the operation shows the willingness of Lebanese security agents to combat drug smuggling and crime.
Saudi Arabia declared a ban on all Lebanese exports on October 29th after an incident where Saudi Customs discovered 5.3 million Captagon pills in pomegranates from Lebanon.
