Mumbai, December 13, 2013 : .Legendary cricketer Dilip Vesarkar believes that India should select Ruturaj Gaikwad, an in-form batsman for their ODI series with South Africa.Ruturaj is in great form lately.The Chennai Super Kings’ opening batter became the youngest player to win an Orange Cap at the Indian Premier League 2021.
He has since swept three consecutive tons in Vijay Hazare trophy, making him a serious contender for Indian ODI squad.
Vengsarkar stated that Ruturaj should be allowed to show his value in the national colors.
You must choose a man who is in good form.He must score more runs to show his worth.According to TOI, Vengsarkar stated that it was high time for the selectors to pick him immediately and give him a run.

Ruturaj was the leading run-scorer in the 2021 edition of the IPL scoring 635 runs at an average of 45.35.And in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, the Maharashtra captain now has 414 runs to his name in three innings at a whopping average of 207 and it includes three consecutive centuries.
Gaikwad scored 136 against Madhya Pradesh, an unbeaten 154 against Chhattisgarh, and a brilliant 124 runs off just 129 balls against Kerala.
