AP high court gives nod for Kondapalli Municipal Chairman election, to be held on Nov 24

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has directed that the election of the Kondapalli Municipal Chairman be held on Wednesday.

The AP High Court on Tuesday held a hearing on a lunch motion petition filed by TDP on the Kondapalli municipal election process.

In the afternoon, the AP high court ordered the Kondapalli municipality commissioner and the Vijayawada CPs to appear before the court.The officers appeared in court as per the court orders.

The high court has directed the Vijayawada in-charge CP to provide protection to councillors till the end of the elections.The election of the Kondapalli Municipal Chairman has been postponed for two days.

There was fierce resistance from councillors belonging to the YCP.With this, the authorities decided to postpone the election process for the Kondapalli Municipal Chairperson position.However, the TDP filed a lunch motion petition in the AP High Court protesting the decision.

The AP High Court this morning held a hearing on the petition.The High Court directed the Vijayawada CP and Kondapalli Municipal Commissioner to appear before the court at 2 pm.Later, the court ordered that the election of the municipal chairman and vice-chairman be held tomorrow.
