Mumbai, 22 Nov : , While Abhishek Bachchan’s role as a contract killer is what fans were excited about, they have a new kind of curiosity over the casting of the movie. This film is a sequel to the 2012 film ‘Kahaani,’ in which Bob was played by Saswata Chaterjee.
Although he was a Bengali actor, he had never been in Hindi films before.His performance and character were appreciated so much by audiences across the country that it was natural for him to be portrayed as Bob Biswas, which is the main character.
In 2019, however, Abhishek was announced to be the title character of Bob Biswas.
Sujoy Ghosh, a writer, explained to IANS why Abhishek was cast.”It wasn’t a conscious decision to cast Bob Biswas as an actor because I wanted to get away from the film ‘Kahaani.’ This isn’t that movie.This film has a different world.It is an original film that has its own status.
We have created a world that Bob Biswas can live in, which gives the film a unique perspective.This is actually one reason I didn’t direct the film.
The earlier film had only eight minutes of Bob’s presence when he was introduced (referring to “Kahaani”) We now have the complete story.
There were several such legendary characters that the actor played in many films in the past.
Upendrakishore RayChowdhury created two fictional Bengali characters, Bagha and Goopi.These two characters were later used by Satyajit Ray, an iconic filmmaker.
Both were played by Bengali actors, Tapen Chatterjee (Rabi Ghosh) and Rabi Gosh (Rabi Ghosh).
Sujoy was asked why he didn’t choose to go down the same route as Ray.He explained that it wasn’t impossible to create the Bob Biswas world where Saswata, who played Bob, can still be cast.Actually, Saswata could have been my choice if I were directing the movie, but Diya has made the decision to direct the film.Her vision is for the film.We want to make a film in which Bob’s world is completely different than what was shown in “Kahaani”.
Sujoy wrote the film and Diya Annapurna directed it.
Fans will see Abhishek’s first appearance in an avatar they have never seen before.His look as a middle-aged, semi-bald man is nearly unrecognizable.
Sujoy shared his experiences working alongside Abhishek and said that Diya did a fantastic job convincing him to play the role.Abhishek gained weight and showed no vanity in becoming the Bob that we saw in the trailer.Abhishek’s flexibility was a great thing.When I finally saw him, it looked exactly like I imagined.I am so happy that I could get my Bob the way I visualized.
Red Chillies Entertainment produced ‘Bob Biswas,’ which also featured Paran Bandopadhyay and Chitrangada Sin, as well as Tina Desai.The film will be available on ZEE5 on December 3.
