Los Angeles, November 20, 2018 : .Actor Delroy Lindo has joined the Marvel Studios cast of ‘Blade,’ which stars Mahershala Ali, the human-vampire hybrid.Variety.com reports that Lindo was the first actor to join this cast after Ali announced the “Blade” reboot during the Marvel Studios 2019 San Diego Comic-Con panel.
The film is directed and written by Bassam Tariq.
The film’s roles in Lindo are not yet known.However, Jamal Afari is a strong candidate for the role of Blade, also known as Eric Brooks.
He was Eric Brooks’ mentor in vampire hunting.
Jamal in comics is Black.
However, Jamal was cast as Abraham Whistler in 1998’s feature film adaptation of Blade starring Wesley Snipes.
Marvel has yet to announce a release date, however observers believe the movie will debut sometime in 2023.
Lindo will be returning from another highly-acclaimed collaboration in Spike Lee’s Netflix series ‘A Da 5 Bloods.
He plays Bass Reeves in the western epic “The Harder They Fall”, which is a true-life lawyer who inspired the Lone Ranger.Next, he will appear on Amazon’s ‘Anansi Boys’ TV series.He’s also set to direct the movie “Jabari’s People”.
